About the project

The new COVID-19 virus is testing the entire world, our country, our society and us as citizens. Everything normal about our daily lives has been put on hold. Life, health, and jobs are threatened. In this critical moment, it is more than ever before important that we work together as a nation to solve one of the biggest crises of our lifetime. Hack the Crisis was an online hackathon organized by Hack for Sweden together with DIGG - The Agency for Digital Government and The Swedish Government.

The mission was to design, test and execute ideas for the future of Sweden and the world. The goal was to gather creative ideas and develop concepts in an attempt to create solutions helping us make further progress in the ongoing pandemic. This hackathon was open for all parts of society to contribute – public sector, private sector, academia, non-profit organizations and citizens, who wanted to join in the fight. The hackathon resulted in over 7000+ participants and 530 submitted solutions many who became real tools that helped people during the pandemic.
